THENKOF

1989 – 1999

In 1985 where i was 10 years old i had choose the nickname „Thenkof“ and moved a year later from Hamm (NRW) to Hessen to Rödermark. When the program „YO! MTV Raps“ was aired on MTV in 1988, I was able to watch many music videos with dancers. As before with my MC Mixtapes I transferred the music videos to the VHS tapes and was able to train easy home. During the week we went to the sports halls again or in good weather with tape recorder in the park. As an artist name, I had already chose my nickname Thenkof.

My first performances took place at birthday parties and I was also on the school graduation ceremony on the stage.

On the weekends I found myself in the roller skating palace in Rödermark or on Sundays in the fantasy in Dieburg. Finally, in November 1989, I also started dancing in clubs and from then on called myself „Thenkof“. From 1992 I went to various Juz party u.a. in Dreieich and Offenbach and danced against other dancers. With the break dancer Gabriel aka Wicked we went to various events and performed u.a. at the HR-3 Clubnight in the Hugenottenhalle in Neu-Isenburg. In between, I made my first attempts as a graffiti sprayer and was able to spray a bridge.
In 1994 I met the Frankfurt rapper Volkan and was invited to the music studio a few days later, where I met the other label colleagues DJ Mahmut & Murat G. Her rap music sampler had just been released and a tour was imminent. Thus, I was engaged as a dancer and had nationwide concerts.

In 1995 & 1996 I became part of the international hip-hop exchange „Le Fonque Connection“ between Germany and France, organized by the BDP (Bund der Deutschen Pfadfinder) and MCV (Paris Street Club).
In 1997 I became a dancer & background singer for the US musician A.D.Morgan with whom I had some shows and so on. on the „Cool Gear’97“ Germany’s biggest black music party in the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen. This was followed by a show as a replacement group for the Backstreet Boys in Dietzenbach at the sponsor Bad + Mad.
1998 was the year of touring, it started with Poland, there I was on tour with DJ Doc Tone and had a performance at the model contest „Miss Lata’98“ in Lublin. Later that year I flew with DJ Mahmut & Murat G. to Istanbul to perform the „Garip Dünya Europa Tour 98“. At Club Harbiye we performed at the Istanbul Hip Hop Jam. In addition to a radio appearance, we shot the music video for the album song „Nereye Baksam“ there. Next we went to Nejmegen, Holland for Doornrößchen Festival. Back in Germany we had more concerts at festivals, clubs and hip hop jams and others in Heidelberg.

From 1998 I started to give breakdance courses, which first took place in youth centers in Darmstadt, Hanau and Dreieich and later in schools. One year later I went to Frankfurt where I taught at the dance school „Tanzszene“ at Westbahnhof. Finally, I also got the chance to teach at the artist school „Screamfactory“, Institute of Performing Arts Breakdance. After 2 years I had already taught over 200 young people the dancing, rehearsed choreographies and brought to the stages. Thus, towards the end of my career, I was able to pass on my talent to others and pave the way. There were more shows and others. on Sound of Frankfurt, before I finished my career in late 1999.
